Built by the former Communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu as part of his plan to rebuild Bucharest, The Palace of the Parliament or “People's House” is the second biggest administrative building in the world. Its size is striking even from a distance – and here's some trivia that says it all: a 3-tone chandelier with 7,000 light bulbs, a room of more than 2,000 square meters, a total surface of 365,000 square meters. More than 9,000 buildings where demolished to make room for this gigantic structure.
